Modern construction technology makes use of a variety of building material that is cost-effective, user-friendly and inexpensive as compared to the conventional stuff. Shera board is an example. With amazingly similar properties of wood, it opens a Pandora box of ideas and creativity. Among different usage of it, Shera board cladding in India is greatly popular. High technical standards and stringent quality checks make the boards totally flawless and perfect. Different dimensions and sizes are available for different applications. You don’t need special tools or training to work with it. Nails or screws that are used for woodwork, electric force saw, and common drills are sufficient.
Shera board cladding adds a great value to the building
Wood-cladding home designing ideas make the exterior immensely rich and good-looking. However, wood has some inherent limitations. Termites, dampness, and humidity make it impossible using wood. New-age solutions like Shera board are ideal in such cases. They are sleek, smart and lightweight. With a wide variety of colors and dimensions, it is possible to make creative experiments in shera board cladding.

Installing and maintaining Shera Board Cladding is just like wooden cladding. The technicalities do not differ drastically.
Fixing and fastening: Affix boards on a timber or steel frame with appropriate dimension. The thickness of the steel frame should be .5mm at least. Appropriate support on the edges is necessary. Use self-embedding or self-drilling screws or nails of appropriate thickness and length. Pre-drilling is necessary if normal screws or nails are used.
Joining: The boards should be joined using butt joints because the dimension changes slightly due to weather changes. Also, joints need to be water protected using good quality acrylic or polyurethane sealant. If you are using flush joints with a recessed edge, then the cladding looks seamless. However, water protection is still necessary.
Painting: Before applying the first coat, it is recommended filling the recessed area using a joining compound. Use of fiberglass mesh tape makes the joints smooth. After the first coat, two more are required at sufficient intervals for a great finish. Sanding has to be done when the final coat dries completely.
